AIDA-Goa
AIDA is a wellness resort in Goa built around large-scale bamboo structures and open-air public spaces. The project brings together sustainable construction, climate-responsive planning, and a clear spatial hierarchy to support health, movement, and recovery in a tropical setting.
Woven Architecture for a Wellness Resort
AIDA is organized as a layered wellness campus. The ground level houses the more active and public functions — reception, gym, co-working, and recovery spaces — opening out toward pools, plunge baths, and outdoor courts. The first floor is arranged as a quieter progression, with a health-focused restaurant at the front, a conference space at the center, and a yoga studio toward the rear, allowing the building to move from social to contemplative as one moves through it.
Bamboo forms the primary structural and spatial system, enabling long-span arches and open interiors with minimal enclosure. Skylights within the roof bring in soft daylight and enhance the sense of openness while supporting natural ventilation. Combined with water bodies and shaded circulation corridors, the architecture reduces dependence on mechanical cooling and creates a calm, climate-responsive environment where structure, material, and wellness are closely aligned.
